SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION
SI is designed to complement the lecture component of
large lecture classes. Undergraduate students who have
successfully completed the course serve as SI leaders
and oversee two independent study sessions every week.
Weekly review sessions are designed for students who
want to improve their understanding of course material
and ultimately their grade. SI leaders attend the lecture
class and are trained to facilitate a collaborative learning
experience by encouraging all the students in the group
to participate in the SI session.
Supplemental Instruction targets challenging classes,
not bad students.
